Isle of Ely Lions Club

How Do I Become a Lion?

Membership of the Isle of Ely Lions is by invitation, usually by a sponsoring member of the Club. Admittance is granted with the agreement of the membership and is open to men and women over the age of 28. For those below this age we sponsor a Leo Club who will offer a warm welcome to interested visitors.
Once invited, a prospective member attends three meetings as a visitor including a fund raising event, after which time both the prospective member and the Club membership decide if the invitation is confirmed and accepted. New members are then sworn into the Club and presented with a badge. The new member must also accept the Lion's Code of ethics and Purposes.

We never forget that family and business must always come before Lions, but members are expected to support the activities of the Club as fully as possible. Their sponsor and fellow members are always on hand to give advice and help.

So How Much Does it Cost?

Because all monies donated by the public are used for charitable and community projects each member pays quarterly dues to the Club for administrative costs including hire of the meeting room etc. These are reviewable but currently stand at £20 per Quarter.
